Genesis G80
Genesis is ready for some major changes in the mid-size G80 sedan. The proportions are similar to that of the current G80. The face receives a major restyling with inspiration coming from the Essentia coupe concept Genesis unveiled at the 2018 New York Auto Show. Borrowed from the concept are the triangular shaped grille and flat, dual bar headlights.
The side mirrors have moved to the doors instead of at the base of the pillars of the current G80. At the rear, the truck lid sports a kammback-like design with the same look of the flat lights.
The current G80 comes with a 311 horsepower 3.8 liter V6 and 420 horsepower 5.0 liter V-8 engine. The V-8 might get replaced by a plug-in hybrid as part of Genesis’ plan to transition to an electric brand.
The interior is also destined to get a major revamp. The infotainment screen will more than likely be larger and less cluttered as well as the addition of the latest electronic driver aids.
The Genesis G80 is expected to go on sale in late 2019 and the price is likely to start close to a $43,000 base price.
